MTV’s If You Really Knew Me ….Watch It and Don’t Miss It!

MTV’s new docu-series “If You Really Knew Me” goes inside high schools across the country to discover what can happen when students peel back their public personas, break out of their cliques and show their peers who they really are. Premiering on Tuesday, July 20, at 11pm, each episode visits a different school, following five students as they tear down the walls that divide them through a transformative one-day program, “Challenge Day.” Reminiscent of the film “The Breakfast Club,” this real life series goes beneath the surface and behind the labels, ultimately uniting these students as they surprise each other with illuminating yet sometimes difficult truths about their lives.
“‘If You Really Knew Me’ is an incredibly authentic and compelling docu-series that takes us on a 24 hour journey through a high school’s social transformation. It shows us what happens when kids from various cliques decide to break down the walls that divide them and commit to change,” said Tony DiSanto, President of Programming for MTV. “It’s an intense and dramatic experience, but ultimately uplifting and universally relatable for all of us who have gone through high school or are about to.”
When in high school, we get to see two types of students. There are the students who rule the school – jocks, cheerleaders, and the popular kids. And then there are the ones who get picked on – nerds, emos, and the school outcasts. And most importantly they all ‘Stick to the Status Quo’!
That is what high school is all about right? So which group did you belong? As for me, I was an emo kid and I really wished sometimes that is this could be changed by breaking the barriers. I am sure you too have given it a thought at some point of your lives – what if you could change that? It’s the time for it folks – ‘If You Really Knew Me’, a reality version of ‘The Breakfast Club’ is on its way to MTV. This reality TV show will try to melt the barriers between different groups through different challenges. Wow! Sounds nice, right?
Just like ‘The Breakfast Club’, each episode of ‘If You Really Knew Me’ will take place at a different high school. In the school the satellite TV show will follow five students from different groups. They will go through different life-changing experience of Challenge Day which is a one-day program that breaks down the walls that keeps different groups separate. These challenges will completely change the way students see their school as well as each other.
Watch the astonishing transformation among the students every week as the students open up for the very first time. They also try to change the scenario and themselves by revealing who they really are, apart from the groups and the status quo.
